Jadranovo

Jadranovo is an ideal destination for those looking for a peaceful location, yet close to Rijeka, Crikvenica, Krk and other tourist gems of Kvarner. But Jadranovo certainly has its historical sides. In medieval times it was a castle port and coastal estate of the Drivenik district, and the town grew towards the church of St. James, whose name it once bore.
The history of the people of Jadranovo is closely linked to fishing, and one type of fish in particular - tuna. The heritage of this type of fishing can be found on the coast in the form of a "tuner" (a wooden observation post with a long ladder) - the only preserved tuner in this area. The locals' love for fishing is visible on every corner, but today, tourism has taken over the most dominant industry in the town. However, sometimes there is a fine line between tourism and fishing, as one of the activities offered in Jadranovo is "fishing with guests".
Jadranovo is suitable for nature lovers and those who appreciate peace, quiet and relaxing walks along the coast. For such guests, a special reward awaits in the Lokvišća bay - the healing mud. Although the whole of Jadranovo is a peaceful oasis, the city center offers all the necessary amenities such as bars, shops and all kinds of restaurants - from pizza places to taverns with fine local food, mostly freshly caught fish.
As a source of good old-fashioned fun, Jadranovo organizes traditional summer fishermen's evenings, concerts, gastronomic delights such as the mussel festival, romantic music evenings and many other events. At the end of July, the whole city celebrates its patron saint, St. James, with an abundance of music, theater, culture, religious content, sports, gastronomy and, finally, midnight fireworks. What more can I say, except: see you in Jadranovo!
